Costa Rican coffee is consistently smooth and fragrant. Coffee has been grown in Costa Rica since the late 1700s. Most coffees are grown between 4,000 and 5,500 feet. Tarrazu and Tres Rios are two of the best known growing regions. La Minita, an estate coffee from Tarrazu, is one of the most highly regarded coffees in the world, year after year.
Clean and well-balanced, Costa Rican Tarrazu has a berry/citrus flavor, that is often sweet, winy, and vibrant with a fine, bright acidity and a finish that reveals spice and chocolate undertones.
Grown in the volcanic soils of the high mountain central valley region of Costa Rica. Tarrazu is one of four districts near Costa Rica’s capital city of San Jose that grow premium gourmet coffee (the other three are Tres Rios, Heredia and Alajuela). Tarrazu has some of the world’s best and richest high altitude soils for coffee growing. This is a great morning coffee.
